Hello New World,
I decided that before I throw poems and insightful words at you that I should explain what to expect from this blog. Words were my first best friend (sorry, Danny), as a kid I read everything -no really, I read the signs as I walked down the street holding my father's hand- wrote stories and created my own little books. I didn't fall in love with poetry until 6th Grade, when I stumbled upon words to describe a flower I doodled. After that first poem I derived inspiration from little moments and sights that I had never noticed or appreciated before. Since then I've taken classes to develop my style and experienced situations that fueled my need to bleed through the keys of my keyboard unto the screen. Initially the idea was to write a blog that consisted of purely poetry, to have a space to share my words with the world, a space where my words can be accessed by anyone and never be lost. Then life happened and I realized I wanted an outlet to vent, share my experiences, talk about life, share opinions and open a space for others to do the same. So why not do both right? We will have Corner Talk, where I will talk about any and everything, maybe about how my week went, why school loans are the bane of my existence or why that guy I like needs to open his eyes and notice me (just saying). Then balance it out with Poetic Blisss, where I'll express myself with hidden meanings, mysterious metaphors, alluring alliterations and honestly just sharing little moments and emotions that venting cannot handle.
Every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday a new post will be added, some weeks and months there may be themes. Some posts may be dedicated to people in need of guidance or those who need someone to listen to them and acknowledge their words and feelings. So subscribe, write me letters, send comments and critiques because I am still learning.
All in all, this blog is where my words can be free; I am new at this so it may take a while for it to be perfected. Until then follow me on this journey, laugh at my mistakes, (I know I will) breathe in the words, enjoy the discussions, feel the emotions, disagree with opinions, fall in love with poetry and the ability to execute a perfect rant.
Until next read,
Keep living life one atom at a time...
P.S There will be three poems posted as an introduction to my writing style, I'm still evolving so don't write me off if they're not loved.
