Lucifer's Fragrance

Peaches, peppers, pancakes filled the moist air.

They sprayed their juices, their flavors, sprayed them until I stare.

The aroma reeled me in

It’s sinful how I let myself get eaten.

Darkness chopped me, chewed me and spat me out

It’s dazzling smiles diced me, drained me left my mind in frigid drought.

What did I do, Guardian Angel?

Seriously, did I look stable?

Your wild stupid form of protection.

Your twisted form of affection.

Sent me Lucifer in disguise.

How wise, how wise. How. Wise.

Pancakes, peppers, peaches now empty my lungs.

Burn me with their flavors, their juices, until I’m gone.

The peaceful scents of breakfast no longer entice me.

Instead, I smell black and let my body get dragged a mindless stream

Upon my resurrection from the alkaline spring,

I’ll still follow Seth’s perfume to the desert's deepest sink.
